Westermost Rough Substation Civil Works Receives a Commendation from the Institution of Civil Engineers
Published 27.03.2015
The Local Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) recently awarded Kelvin Energy (alongside Balfour Beatty and DONG Energy) a certificate of commendation to the Westermost Rough 275kV Onshore Substation project team. The certificate was handed over at an awards evening recently to members of the Balfour Beatty team and Kelvin Energy by the president of the Institution.
It was an extremely tight site that presented many constructability and design challenges to the project team, but ultimately was a highly successful project with an impeccable safety record.
Apart from Kelvin Energy’s role as civil, structural and building services engineers, HV primary plant layout designers, and site and land rights managers, Kelvin Energy provided several site based personnel taking key positions such as the site logistics Manager, site HV installation manager, civil works QS services, substation and cable route design and construction co-ordinators as well as HV cable installation supervision.
